We customize and design each home keeping the history of the surrounding neighborhoods in mind. We love the throwback vintage designs of the Tudor Revival Architecture prevalent in the Huntington Woods, Berkley and Pleasant Ridge areas. We have also drawn Victorian design inspiration from some of the older neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, PA where we worked in the past. We provide a cohesive product matching some of the interior choices to the exterior architecture. We believe by using design inspirations from vintage architecture we can add in the character that is often lacking in many new builds which is our main priority. The floor plans are designed in such a way to optimize the functionality of modern living while also providing a unique and urban feel.
Finish carpentry craftsmanship is one of our biggest passions. We love to create custom built-ins. Boot-room lockers, Master bedroom closet built-ins, desk niches, fireplace surrounds and wainscoting are made of ¾” to ½” finish grade plywood and trimmed out with solid wood moldings.
We use high quality finish materials, marble, ceramics and hardwoods throughout. Cabinetry, solid surface countertops, faucets, light fixtures, and hardware all come together to complement the overall design, each home with its own distinct style and character.
We make our own mouldings and trim-work out of a local mill. We select the logs and rough-cut lumber to make premium quality poplar and maple trim. Producing our own mouldings has also allowed us to customize the product. Some of our mouldings are designed off of trim-work from homes built in the 1800s.
Most mouldings sold commercially today are MDF or finger joined wood both of which are not as durable overtime and are just not unique. We don’t believe in the saying, “they just don’t build things like they use to”. We believe in producing a quality product that is both beautiful and durable, that is timeless and unique.
At Sandoval Homes we believe that luxury should exist throughout the house. In all our homes you will notice 11” crown molding, 5” casing and 10” baseboards are standard in not only the master bedroom but also the spare bedrooms, pantries and bathrooms. Everyone in the family should enjoy the character of a beautiful home.
